Courtney has completed an MSc in Applied Geoscience (GeoEnergy) from the University of Edinburgh, with specific focus on Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS) and energy storage.

He has been working for SGN for over a year on a variety of innovation based projects focused on the decarbonisation of the network to 100% hydrogen and ensuring security of supply through storage. Lately, he has been working on identifying viable locations for the development of large scale, subsurface storage and the viability of Liquid Organic Hydrogen Carriers (LOHC’s) to provide interseasonal storage
