Open Networks: How has the project, and sector, evolved over the past five years? 15 October

Britain’s energy landscape is changing, and new smart technologies are changing the way we interact with the energy system. Our Open Networks project is transforming the way our energy networks operate. Dörte will join the other leaders of the project to discuss how it is working with broader energy transition policies and priorities.

Speaker profile

Dörte started her career at Ofgem, working among other things on smart and flexible energy system policy. Subsequently at the National Infrastructure Commission, Dörte delivered the National Infrastructure Assessment as the Power Sector Lead, assessing long-term strategic infrastructure needs for the power sector.

In 2018, Dörte joined the Smart Energy Team in BEIS heading up the Markets for Flexibility Team. Her work focusses on driving forward reforms to ensure low-carbon flexibility has access to fair and transparent markets and designing national and local markets to fully reward low-carbon flexibility.
