Funding innovation in RIIO-2, 13 October

Dr Paterson will be speaking about options for funding innovation projects in RIIO-2. and will also be joining our polling panel on RIIO-2 innovation strategies and planning, which will delve into:

  • Gas and electricity network innovation priorities for RIIO-2
  • What solutions do we need from the supply chain?

She will also be a judge in ENIC's Call for Ideas and pitching session on "How do we innovate to benefit customers in vulnerable situations?"

Speaker profile

Geraldine joined United Utilities (subsequently Electricity North West) as a graduate engineer in 1998. She has a BEng in electrical and electronic engineering and a PhD in design of generators from Queen’s University, Belfast.

After a role in the policy and standards team, Geraldine joined the innovation team in 2012 to provide technical expertise for our portfolio of low carbon projects. She leads the creation of our innovation strategy and the development and submission of our flagship innovation projects and was part of the team which gained funding to deliver CLASS, Smart Street, Respond and Celsius. Geraldine also project manages a range of NIA projects and helps transition all projects into business as usual.
