Delivering the data-driven utility of the future panel, 15 October
Richard will be joining a panel of digital thought leaders to discuss pressing issues for the energy networks such as:
- What should the network operators be doing (and not doing) with data? What data should the networks be making available to stakeholders and how can they access it?
- How do we professionalise data science within the Energy sector and engage internal and external stakeholders in it?
- The potential for unlocking valuable data buried in silos
- Where is the dividing line for protecting systems from cyber-attack versus exploiting useable data?
Richard leads the Data Systems Practice at the Energy Systems Catapult, providing the Energy sector with support and guidance to digitalise the energy system and realise greater value from data. Richard led content development for the Energy Data Taskforce and co-authored ‘A Strategy for a Modern Digital Energy System’ which advocates a ‘presumed open’ approach for energy system data.
Prior to joining the Energy sector, Richard ran a range of data-centric innovation projects across Telecommunications, International Development and Technology.
