Digitisation of SCO database, 13 October
Geoff will be sharing a project update on Digitisation of SCO database on Day Two of ENIC. The aim of this project is to develop an end to end cloud based Safe Controls of Operations system to optimise the performance of network operations, to ensure control of network conflicts, allow real time visibility of in-flight and planned work status and provide an electronic permit to the work and isolation system.
Geoff Harle started his career as an apprentice Gas Distribution Engineer thirty years ago and has progressed through the industry to become Network Controller for Northern Gas Network. By engaging with businesses both in and out of the sector, he has built a strong understanding of the current and potential issues faced by the SCO Process and how it can impact the wider stakeholders, and how these can be overcome.
Geoff closely follows the development of technological and digital innovations which will bring benefit to all customers, stakeholders, employees, and the business. Geoff says, “with the development of a new SCO Database to include conflict mapping and checking utilising a geospatial system and working alongside a new E Permit system we can greatly improve compliance with in field operations.
