Panel: How can we ensure we don’t leave behind the non-digital native consumers? 13 October
James will be joining the discussion around how to bring consumers with us as we digitalise the networks, exploring:
- Why do digital skills matter in the future of energy: what's the risk for people who are digitally excluded or don't have the skills to engage?
- Are current consumer protections robust enough to handle the scale and pace of change when it comes to the digitalisation of energy?
- What are the key points in the customer journey that industry and companies should be thinking about tackling?
- What can we learn from other markets and countries?
James is the Consumer Strategy Lead at National Grid ESO and is responsible for bringing consumer insight into all areas of the business. He was seconded to Citizens Advice’s Energy Policy team where he worked to make sure that consumers were at the heart of decisions across the energy networks, particularly in the build up to RIIO-2 and Ofgem’s Charging Reviews. James has worked in the energy industry in various roles for a decade. Prior to that he worked for Groundwork in Cheshire where he ran the Green Doctor programme that improved the energy outcomes of disadvantaged fuel poor communities.
