Thomas Andritsch received the Dipl.-Ing. degree in Electrical Engineering from Graz University of Technology in 2006 and his PhD in the same field from Delft University of Technology in 2010. He is currently working as an Associate Professor at the University of Southampton, with a research focus on advanced insulation materials for high voltage applications. He has extensive experience with preparation and testing of polymer-based electrical insulation materials and liquids, including nanodielectrics, alternative insulation fluids, electroactive polymers, and syntactic foams. Andritsch is Senior Member of the IEEE, elected member of the IEEE DEIS AdCom since 2018, chair of the UK and Ireland Chapter of the IEEE DEIS; he is member of the IEEE DEIS WG Nanodielectrics and UK representative in CIGRE WGs D1.73 and JWG B1/D1.75.
